Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Q: What can I expect from a Pulse by Nature session?
Every session is designed to be calm and tailored to you. We begin with a short check-in to understand how your body feels, followed by a guided oil selection and a personalised massage approach.

Q: Is this a spa or a clinical treatment?
We sit in between. Pulse by Nature is built on science-led aromatherapy with intuitive touch therapy. It is not a medical treatment, but it is also not a typical spa experience. We focus on creating meaningful physical and sensory relief through well-informed techniques.

Q: Do I need to know anything before coming in?
You can come as you are. If you have any sensitivities, injuries, or conditions, simply let us know 2-days prior to your slot so we can take note and adjust the session accordingly.

BOOKING & OPERATIONS

Q: Do I need to make a booking?
Yes, we recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time slot. Walk-ins are subject to availability.

Q: What if I’m late?
Your session may be shortened to respect the next booking. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for a smooth check-in.

Q: What is included in the session time?
Your total booking includes:

  • Short consultation

  • Oil selection

  • Massage session

  • Post-session wind-down

Q: What is the cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We understand that schedules can change. For last-minute (within 24 hours) cancellations or missed appointments, we offer a one-time rescheduling option within the next 7 days. A unique rebooking code will be provided for you to secure a new session at your convenience.

Please note:

  • The rescheduling option is limited to one time only

  • If the rescheduled session is missed or not utilised, the booking will be considered fulfilled and no further rescheduling or refunds will be provided.

This allows us to manage our therapists’ time fairly while still offering flexibility where possible.

Q: Can I transfer my booking to another person?
Bookings are generally non-transferable, as each session is prepared based on the original customer’s booking details and consultation process.

If you wish to pass your session to another individual, the original booking will first need to be cancelled in accordance with our cancellation policy. A new booking code will then be issued by Pulse by Nature for the replacement guest to make a fresh booking under their own details.

This helps us ensure proper consultation, safety screening, and service preparation for every individual session.

AROMATHERAPY

Q: What is aromatherapy and how does it work?
Aromatherapy uses concentrated botanical extracts (essential oils) to interact with the body through smell and skin absorption. These compounds can influence how the body responds to tension, stress, and fatigue — often through the nervous system.

Q: Are essential oils safe?
Yes — when used correctly. At Pulse by Nature, all blends are properly diluted, professionally formulated, and applied with care. Essential oils are highly concentrated, which is why we do not use them excessively or casually.

Q: Will I feel immediate effects?
Everyone responds differently. Some people feel a shift quickly — such as a sense of ease or clarity — while others experience a more gradual release over the session. We focus on creating consistent, reliable comfort, not exaggerated and overpromised outcomes.

Q: Can I choose my own oils?
Yes, but we will guide you. Based on your condition and preferences, we’ll recommend a blend that suits your body best. This ensures both effectiveness and safety.

MASSAGE

Q: What type of massage do you offer?
Our approach combines therapeutic massage techniques with aromatherapy support. It focuses on areas where modern lifestyles commonly hold tension — such as the head, shoulders, neck, and upper back.

Q: Will the massage be painful?
Pressure is always adjusted to your comfort level. We prioritise effective yet controlled pressure, not force. You should feel relief, not discomfort.

Q: Can I request stronger or lighter pressure?
Absolutely. Communication is encouraged throughout the session so we can adapt to your preference in real time.

Q: How often should I come for a session?
Frequency depends on your individual needs, lifestyle, and overall condition. For general maintenance, every 2–4 weeks are commonly sufficient. During periods of increased physical tension or stress, more frequent sessions may be considered. All sessions are provided with your informed consent, and any relevant health information should be shared with Pulse by Nature to ensure safe application. If you have an existing medical condition or are experiencing significant or persistent symptoms, it is advisable to seek guidance from a qualified healthcare professional. Massage and aromatherapy are supportive practices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions.

SAFETY & SUITABILITY

Q: Who should avoid aromatherapy or massage?
Certain individuals may require adjustments or should avoid treatment, including:

  • Recent injuries or surgeries

  • Skin infections or open wounds

  • Certain medical conditions (e.g. uncontrolled hypertension, severe allergies)

  • Early pregnancy (first trimester)

If you’re unsure, it’s always best to inform us beforehand.

Q: Can children receive aromatherapy or massage?
Yes, but only with age-appropriate oils, dilution levels, and techniques. We take extra care to ensure safety and comfort for children.

Q: What if I have sensitive skin or allergies?
Please let us know before your session. We can perform a simple patch consideration and adjust the formulation or avoid certain oils entirely.

POST MASSAGE / AFTERCARE

Q: What should I do after my massage session?
Keep it simple:

  • Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water

  • Avoid intense physical strain immediately after

  • When essential oils are applied, it is generally advisable to leave them on the skin for a period of time before bathing (minimum 2 hours), unless you experience any sensitivity or discomfort.

  • Responses can vary between individuals, so observe how your body feels and adjust accordingly.

Q: Will I feel sore after the massage?

Mild soreness can happen, especially if there was built-up tension. This usually settles within 24 - 48 hours depending on the condition. It’s a normal response as the body releases stored tension.

Q: Can I continue my day after the session?

Many return to work or daily activities right after. However, if possible, give yourself a bit of quiet time to maximise the benefits of the session.

PULSE BY NATURE PHILOSOPHY

Q: What makes Pulse by Nature different?
We don’t follow trends. We focus on understanding the body, respecting the science of essential oils, and applying them with intention. Everything we do is guided by one principle: to create real, grounded relief — without overpromising.
